Last Sunday our Seniors had a successful outing to Kilcoman where they defeated Burgess in the County League. They play Toomevara at home on Wednesday 22nd June. This weekend we have 2 teams in action. On Friday our Juniors play JK Brackens at home in Group 1 of the Mid Championship, while on Saturday we play Thurles Gaels in Kickham Park in a Group 2 fixture. Both games have a 7.30pm throw in.
We suffered a disappointing loss to Clonakenny in the first round of the Mid Intermediate hurling Championship on Saturday last in the Ragg. The 16 players tried their best but our failure to convert our scoring opportunities was the difference between victory and defeat.
A large crowd of invited guests, committee members and supporters gathered in our Clubhouse last weekend for the launch of the inagural Thurles Sarsfields International Hurling Thirteens Festival which the club are hosting on Munster Hurling Final weekend and will feature teams from the United States,Europe,England, Northern Ireland and the Republic. The winning team will receive the Semple Cup presented to the club by the Semple family to commemorate the late Tom Semple.John Enright and his enthusiastic committee have put a lot of hard work into planning the event and we wish them well with the tournament. A full report of the launch is featured elsewhere in the paper.
We send our best wishes to all players who are currently sitting the Junior and Leaving Certificate examinations

Good luck to Tipperary on Sunday next,  particularily our club representatives selector Michael Gleeson and players Lar,Padraic,Pa,Michael Cahill,Michael Gleeson and Stevie Lillis.
