The Junior A team lined out in their first Championship game last Monday night on their home soil against Upperchurch. It was a well fought out game between the two sides. Upperchurch had the advantage of the wind in the first half and clocked up the scores to be ahead at half time by 6 points, 1-08 to 1-02. Sars didn't let this phase them. They were slow to start in the second half but quickly found their feet again and turned things around by getting a few scores back to bring the two sides level. Sars fought desparetly to keep the game level and try to edge ahead. However, Upperchurch just pipped Sars on the line by getting two scores from two last minute close range frees to put them ahead and eventually win the game by two points. The final score rested at 1-16 to 4-05 to Upperchurch. Sars have another chance against Upperchurch when them meet them away in a few weeks time.
